Political Background
Chairman of The Bangladesh Today, Jobaer Alam with Awami League office secretary Dr. Abdus Sobhan Golap holding up nomination Form of Dhaka North Mayoral Election.
Apart from being an academic, Jobaer Alam has deep involvement in national politics since he was a teenager. At present, he holds the position of Joint Convener of Blue Group (Teachers’ association for Awami League) of Faculty of Earth and Environmental Science of Dhaka University. He is also a central member of the Sub-Committee on Education and Human Resources of Bangladesh Awami League. In his ancestral home in Nilphamari, he is involved as an Executive Member of Nilphamari District Unit of Awami League.
He served as an active member of the central executive committee of Bangladesh Awami Secchasebak League and he was also an executive member of Bangladesh Chhatra League (FH Hall Branch) when he was a student at Dhaka University.
With a long standing political involvement and desire to contribute for the development of Dhaka city led him to take part in the election of Dhaka North City Corporation in 2018 as a mayoral candidate.
Jobaer Alam has future plans to participate in the upcoming national election from the constituency of Nilphamari -3.
